The Southeast Asian Freedom Network (SEAFN) is a national movement collective of local organizations mobilizing SEA communities towards abolition. The Southeast Asian Relief and Responsibility (SEARR) Campaign seeks to..

1) Hold the US accountable for environmental and military violence inflicted on SEA’ land and people and

2) Call for immediate relief for SEA people who have been detained and deported since the 2000s. SEARR aims to free our people from generational cycles of displacement and heal from this collective trauma. 

In 2025, the United States will commemorate 50 years since the end of the Vietnam War (and U.S. involvement in Laos and Cambodia). The wars—and the United States’ failed Southeast Asian refugee resettlement conditions— continue to traumatize and displace our people.

VietLead is partnering with our sister network, Southeast Asian Freedom Network (SEAFN), on an international screening tour of the Taking Root docuseries and the Southeast Asian Relief and Responsibility (SEARR) Campaign. This will travel across the United States and the world to foster community healing, and advocate for American accountability for the environmental and humanitarian harms of the Wars in Southeast Asia and an end to Southeast Asian deportation.
